Getting married when still young as young as 21 or 22 years old was my dream when I was a senior high student. I dreamed about this because I think it would be exciting if I have children when still young.
However, the dream remained dream since in the 21st and 22nd of my life I was still studying at university. Perhaps, that was not the significant reason for some people. I do realize that many youth in the age of 21 or 22 even younger get married even though they are studying at the same time. However, to me, it was not easy to run many duties as student, activist, and also wife at the same time. And I thought I just wanted to enjoy my young age as a single. Therefore, any offer from anyone to introduce me to somebody who was ready to get marry was always rejected by me.
My age turned to 23 when I had possibility and also will to get married since at this age, too, I graduated from university and started to find my other half. I said to myself that I will open myself to know someone. However, my spirit to continue study was high, I applied scholarship abroad. Then, I came up to decision not to accept any offer until I was sure I got the scholarship or not. Hence, I delayed the process of knowing someone, also my marriage.
My age turned 24, however the condition is, getting married is in the first place. I open myself again to know someone. I still have my ideal criteria of Mr.Right that can be my other half. My Mr. Right is the one who is pious, who continuously searches, learns and improves knowledge of Islam, and so on. Therefore, whoever is offered to me as long as he fits my criteria, I will presumably accept it. Along with the process of finding someone, I pray so Allah will give me the best, the right person: Mr. Right. It is Allah who decides. We'll see who is my other half: Mr. Right.
